Mekong River Cruise: Cambodia and Vietnam
Unforgettable journeys on Asia’s most legendary river
Culture and civilisations have flourished around great rivers throughout history, and the Mekong is no exception. The opportunity to discover rich heritage and traditions enriched by 2,000 years of human history is what makes the Mekong river cruise one of Asia’s most epic and worthwhile journeys on water.
A traveler cruising the Mekong is in close pursuit of a glorious past, retracing significant human accomplishments and cultural highs. From the flourishing of the Khmer empire from the 9th to 15th century from to the prominence of Theravada Buddhism in present-day Cambodia and Vietnam, this is one of the few cultural destinations on Earth that’s best explored on a river voyage.
The Mighty Mekong River, Vietnam’s fictional “Nung River” has many historic war sites and real-life stories to be discovered. This Vietnam river cruise offers a look into the mystical past of Indonesian culture making it the perfect Vietnam holiday.
Take this journey of a lifetime aboard the award-winning Aqua Mekong river cruise ship for a truly immersive, meaningful and personalized luxury experience in this culture-rich landscape. Itineraries depart from Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, and Siem Reap. Aqua Expeditions is the only Mekong cruise that provides complimentary flight extensions to Siem Reap during the low water season.
At the same time, the lower Mekong basin is also a cradle for nature. It’s home to a wealth of fish that provides sustenance for the people and a myriad species of large waterbirds. In the verdant rice fields dotted with pockets of lush greenery, more bird and domestic wildlife species can be spotted along with the ubiquitous Brahman oxen that diligently work the fields.
Aqua Expeditions’ luxury river cruise ship, Aqua Mekong, charts a path through the picturesque lower Mekong basin with expert guides on board. Navigating the Mekong river aboard our best-in-class vessel and following in the footsteps of royalty who have sailed before, this is the most enjoyable and rewarding way to experience the region.

I did not have to worry about anything after agreeing to the itinerary. I was only asked for deposit so the company is able to hold the hotel other than that the full amount wasn’t due until the first day of the tour. Which put our mind at ease, because we were able to see faces and sign paperwork at the office. Due to a lot...

Wonderful three weeks in Vietnam
Go Southeast Asia is a great travel company. Vietnam is about people, nature, landscapes, bustling cities, beaches, native people and even some mountains. Go Southeast Asia travel ties all of these together to provide trips that ooze this Vietnam essence. I have taken several personalized trips with Diu but the most recent was a 3 week May sojourn beginning in Saigon and ending in Hoi An. The trip combined planes, trains and automobiles except no trains and a van instead of an automobile. After spending a few days in Saigon and the Mekong Delta, we flew to Buon Ma Thuot and enjoyed some coffee and elephants before the arduous drive to Da Lat and a few days enjoying that climate and that city. From there another drive to Nha Trang and a couple beach days before driving to Phu Yen and a couple...
