This wonderful South Vietnam and Cambodia trip is a mix of the highlights of these two countries. This tour brings you from the hustle and bustle city centre of Saigon, to the legendary Cu Chi tunnels and the lush green rice basket of Vietnam, the Mekong delta and finishes at the majestic Angkor complex and vibrant Phnom Penh. It is a memorable journey full of historical and cultural highlights.

Itinerary
Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel.
In the afternoon, we will visit to the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace for the president of South Vietnam, the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post office. While visiting these central values of HCMC, you have the opportunity to get marvelous photos of this big, modern city of Vietnam. Evening transfer to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City
This morning, we leave the city and head for Tay Ninh, approximately 100 kilometers northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, the Holy Sea of the Cao Dai religion. We arrive at noon and take time to admire the daily ceremony. We enjoy lunch before driving to visit the former Viet Cong guerilla base of the Cu Chi tunnels, where we will gain an insight of the sacrifices and hardships of the Vietnamese people during the French and American Wars. After this interesting historical visit, we return to Ho Chi Minh City. If time permits, we can further explore the bustling Ben Thanh market to find something interesting to take home from Vietnam’s oldest and busiest market.
At 08.00 We leave Ho Chi Minh City behind and head to Vietnam's rice basket, the Mekong Delta. We will pass through idyllic, rural sceneries to arrive at My Tho, a peaceful town on the bank of the Mekong River. Here we we will visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda. Then we will have a boat ride on the Mekong, visit local homes and orchards, a coconut candy workshop, a honeybee farm, take a sampan ride on palm-shaded creeks, try some seasonal fruits and honey tea and enjoy a performance of traditional Southern singing. Then we go further to Can Tho.
Overnight in Can Tho.
This morning we go on the boat and visit the fascinating floating market at Cai Rang. You will see local farmers who trade their products on the water. This is a century old tradition. We continue our journey to a fruit orchard where you can taste the tropical fruits grown in this region and try some local tea. In the afternoon, we drive deeper to Chau Doc. Upon arrival, visit Sam Mountain for a beautiful sunset, with its breathtaking views over rice paddies till the Cambodian border. Overnight in Chau Doc.
In the early morning, we take a speedboat to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. We spend the full afternoon to visit the Royal Palace, visit the silver pagoda with their compounds. Afterwards we continue and visit the National Museum where you will learn more about the pre-Angkor, Angkor and Post-Angkor period
Overnight in Phnom Penh.
After breakfast at the hotel, we drive 16km south-west of Phnom Penh and visit Cheong Ek, known better as “killing field” during the Khmer Rouge regime. Then we return to Phnom Penh and visit Toul Sleng Museum, which is the former high school after Khmer Rouge came to power. They turned it into a prison that most people now call Genocide Museum or S21. In the afternoon, we will spend most of our time in the Russian Market and along the river front for a nice drink on the FCC roof top. You enjoy a nice view over Phnom Penh and a sunset over the French colonial buildings.
Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Early this morning, we will leave Phnom Penh for a rather long journey to Siem Reap by overland. The route today will take approximately 6 hours, during which you will enjoy the lovely countryside with green rice fields and many plantations, or a largest Lake in South-East Asia with a fascinating floating village in Cambodia. In the afternoon, we will explore Angkor Wat and Phnom Bakheng for a sunset overview of the Angkor complex.
Overnight in Siem Reap
In the morning, we will explore Angkor Thom, the site of the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. Visit the South Gate, Bayon, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of Leper King. Then, we visit Ta Prohm, many people consider this to be the most charming of all the temples. We also explore Banteay Srei and the landmine rehabilitation center.
Overnight in Siem Reap.
After breakfast we take a boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake to see the ancient and interesting way of life on the water. It will also include Artisans D’angkor or enjoy more temples around the Angkor area. The rest of the day is free.
Transfer to the airport for your International Flight
After breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for our flight home or continue our adventure routes.
