5-Day Mekong Delta Tour: Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Can Tho & Chau Doc

Enjoy breakfast and the fresh morning air before embarking on a cycling tour through the countryside of Ben Tre, lasting approximately 2–2.5 hours.

Cycle along peaceful concrete paths shaded by fruit orchards and coconut palms as you experience everyday life in the Mekong Delta.

Along the way, pass through a lively local market, where villagers trade fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, and other local produce.

Subject to availability, visit a traditional coconut-stem basket workshop and a coconut-processing workshop. Meet local artisans and learn about the traditional techniques used to create these handcrafted products.

Continue cycling and board a local Mekong ferry to cross the river to Oc Island. Ride along narrow village paths surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, passing simple homes and observing the daily life of local residents whose livelihoods depend on farming and traditional handicrafts.

Stop at a local fish farm to learn about the cultivation of two important Mekong Delta catfish species: ca tra (Pangasius hypophthalmus) and ca ba sa (Pangasius bocourti).

Return to the hotel and check out at around 12:00 PM.

In the evening, savor a delicious dinner featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared in traditional Khmer style.

After dinner, immerse yourself in Khmer culture with a captivating Apsara Dance Performance. For the Khmer people of southern Vietnam, Apsara dance is a treasured performing art associated with festivals, ceremonies, and important community celebrations.

Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a cycling tour through the peaceful countryside of Tra Vinh.

Cycle along scenic rural roads in Cau Ke District, passing lush rice paddies and tropical fruit orchards while observing the daily life of local farmers.

Stop at Mrs. Thia's House to learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Mekong Delta and discover local livestock farming practices.

Continue to a traditional rice-milling house to see how rice is processed using time-honored methods.

The journey then takes you to a beautiful Khmer pagoda, where you can admire the intricate architecture and gain insight into the unique culture and Buddhist traditions of the Khmer community.

Before returning, stop at Thala Rest Stop to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding rice fields. Meet local farmers and discover Macapuno Coconut (Cốm Dừa Sáp), one of Tra Vinh's most famous specialties.

You will also be introduced to the native Mù U Tree, traditionally used to produce natural oil and handmade torches.

Conclude the cycling experience by tasting the rich and creamy Macapuno Coconut before returning to Thala Tra Vinh.

Check out and depart for Can Tho, the vibrant heart of the Mekong Delta. Known for its picturesque canals, floating markets, tropical orchards, and rich river culture, Can Tho is an ideal destination for experiencing local life in the Mekong Delta.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Our private Cai Rang Floating Market experience starts early in the morning, when local trading activity is at its busiest. After exploring the market by boat, guests can continue into the smaller canals and visit local families away from the main tourist area

Afterwards, depart for Tra Su Cajuput Forest, an ecological sanctuary renowned for its flooded cajuput forest, peaceful waterways, and rich biodiversity.

Board a small boat and glide through emerald-green waterways covered with duckweed, surrounded by towering cajuput trees. Continuing by traditional sampan, quietly exploring the narrow canals while observing native birds and wildlife in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, continue to Chau Doc, a charming riverside town near the Cambodian border. Known for its multicultural heritage, religious sites, and traditional river life, Chau Doc offers a fascinating glimpse into another side of the Mekong Delta.

After breakfast, check out and visit Sam Mountain, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in southern Vietnam.

Enjoy panoramic views over the surrounding countryside before visiting Ba Chua Xu Temple, one of the region's most important religious and historical landmarks.

Afterwards, depart for Ho Chi Minh City. Relax and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel from the peaceful Mekong Delta countryside back to the city.

Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.
