Ninh Binh is a province in North Vietnam that is located about 100 km South of Hanoi. Ninh Binh was originally called “Hoa Lu”, the capital of Vietnam in the 10th century, the land associated with the six kings of the three dynasties of Dinh - Le - Ly with historical marks. It is one of the top destinations in a tour in Northern Vietnam and known as a spiritual land with many different temples. It is famous for its beautiful landscapes and incredible scenery.

The main attractions in Ninh Binh are: Hoa Lu temple, Tam Coc, Bich Dong pagoda, Trang An, Bai Dinh pagoda. Besides the popular attractions in Ninh Binh, you should not miss Mua cave, Cuc Phuong national park, Thung Nham bird park, Van Long Nature Reserve, Kenh Ga, and Phat Diem Church.

If your time is limited, you can visit Ninh Binh in one day to visit most of the highlights. If you want to cover all the famous destinations in Ninh Binh, you should count to spend 2 - 3 days. Day 01: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc (L)

Morning depart from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, located in the marshy Red River delta, featuring a network of waterways coupled with spectacular limestone formations rising up from rice paddy fields. Spend one hour visiting the Dinh and Le temples of the Ancient Capital Hoa Lu which are dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the founders of the ancient capital during the 10th century.

Afternoon, continue drive to Tam Coc wharf, get on the row boat while this area is still not busy, we will enjoy a nice and quiet riding along the river through 3 tunnel caves, consisting of the Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba grottoes. These caves are adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and colors that sparkle like gemstones.

Optional activities: Enjoy a bicycle ride through the countryside after the boat trip.

Overnight in Ninh Binh

Day 02: Mua Cave – Trang An – Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast we will visit Mua Cave, one of the most alluring places to get the panorama view in Ninh Binh. We hike up to the peak of Ngoa Long Mountain where you get your amazing views of the Tam Coc, Ninh Binh area.

Then transfer to visit Trang An Eco-Tourism area. Trang An Eco-Tourism complex is the home of 600 kinds of flora and over 200 kinds of fauna, many of which you find in the Red book of Vietnam. It is also a gathering of 31 valleys, 48 cross-water caves. We will visit 3 to 6 of them. On the rowing boat, we can enjoy the fresh air, clean and clear water with under water grass. Experience ourselves the feeling and emotion when we are on the water caves….

After tour we will transfer back to Hanoi with drop off at your hotel.
