Overview

When one thinks about Cambodia, thoughts usually turn to the mysterious and majestic Angkor temples and bustling Phnom Penh. These are great attractions, but Cambodia has additional sights. If you journey to the south, endless golden rice fields, coffee and pepper plantations, beautiful lakes, salt fields and a national park will welcome you. Some can be admired from the Kep/Kampot mountain summit or while dining in Kep eating some of the best seafood in the world.  In addition, there is also Koh Rong Island and the calm imparted by its isolated existence among the Gulf of Thailand clear blue waters.  If you desire something more than nature and outdoor activities, Sihanouk has a range of casinos. With a 10-day tour package, Go Southeast Asia can customize your itinerary and take you to any or all of these places. The hill station has been abandoned twice in its history – once when the Vietnamese overran the place in the late 1940's while fighting for independence against the French, and then again in 1972 when it was overrunning by the Khmer Rouge.
