As some sharp stalactites hang very low from the ceiling of the caves, we have to wear a helmet to protect our heads and have to bow down when entering. Pick up at 05.30 am. In the early morning around sunrise, the boat leaves for Komodo Island. Cruising among the islands around the Komodo National Park will permit you to enjoy an amazing sunrise emerging behind Flores Island in the east. When good weather, it will be so spectacular while cruising among small islands to reach the island of Komodo. On Komodo, the legendary giant lizard was discovered for the first time by a Dutch sailor. They named the animal the name we have today: Komodo dragon or Varanus Komodoensis. The island of Komodo is today identical with the newly discovered Komodo dragon. This is the reason why Komodo Island is known better than other parts of the park such as Rinca Island where the same Komodo dragon lives. Komodo Island has a surface area of 390 square kilometers and a human population of over two thousand. Upon arrival here you will become one of those who have since then seen the legendary giant lizard on the spot. As in Rinca, the park ranger will explain to you anything necessary during your visit.

Then under his guidance, you follow the trails provided by the park to look for the Komodo dragon. Sometimes you walk under the shadow of the trees and sometimes you climb the hills without trees. As the Komodo dragon is a dangerous animal, please be always with your group and guide that protects you. Lunch will be served on board.

After the visit you return to your boat that takes you to Pantai Merah or Pink Beach, a beach with pink sand, one of only seven beaches in the world. The sand looks pink due to the mixture of white sand with broken bright red skeletons of organ pipe corals, which can be found in abundance in many other parts of The Komodo National Park.

This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Komodo Island and has become one of the most-visited parts of Komodo Island. Here you spend time snorkeling to discover the excellent underwater garden filled with beautiful corals and many species of rare and small fishes.

At 02.00 PM you start a 4 hours cruise back to Labuan Bajo. Dinner will be served in one seafood restaurant at TPI before continuing to your hotel.
