Despite just being a small country located in the Indochina Peninsula with a safe security, Vietnam is truly a melting pot of culture globally attracting tourists. From chaotic and energetic city centers with hustle and bustle streets full of motorbikes- a common means of transport here – to tranquil countryside villages on the delta, tourists can experience a uniquely diverse culture and cuisine, as well as their local life. From the breath-taking view of greeny rice terraces in the mountainous areas to spectacular illuminated caves in Halong Bay – one of the most attractive natural wonders in the world, Vietnam will never let you get bored. Heading down to the central of Vietnam, then visit Hoi An old town, where travelers can find mouth-watering food while leisurely strolling along peaceful town streets embracing a meandering river. Going further to the south of the country, tourists will immediately immerse themselves in frenetic Ho Chi Minh city with vibrant beer corners before finding that it is also interesting to discover the floating markets on Mekong Delta.

VIETNAM

Vietnam, a beautiful country with 54 ethnic groups, is absolutely a unique blend of culture that is shown in all aspects of life from clothing, architecture, cuisine, religion to music and art. Having the main population of Kinh or Viet people, Vietnamese are famous for being one of the friendliest and most hospitable people in the world. Following collectivism, Vietnamese people show their culture of closely living in the community and support each other when they need it. It is common for two or three generations to live in the same house as children are expected to take care of their parents when their parents get old. Southern Vietnam, with only two seasons which are dry and rainy season, is a great place for those who love sunshine in combination with sudden showers. Though there are some months in the rainy season when the country undergoes a huge amount of rainfall resulting from tropical depression or tropical storms, Vietnam is still an amazing destination in the world.

Explore Hanoi by bike
Day trips

Explore Hanoi by bike

During this bike tour, we explore the countryside and the culture of Hanoi. Our cycling adventure starts at the hotel. We bike through the busy old street to Long Bien Bridge, exploring villages by the Red river and getting a feeling of local life, far away from the sights and the sounds of the busy city. We go to the West Lake and visit the Red River bank.

Meet our guide at your hotel. We bike along the busy streets of Hanoi old quarter.

First visit is on Long Bien Bridge, a symbol of the tenacity and resilience of the Hanoian people. The Long Bien Bridge (built between 1899 and 1902) was bombed several times during the American War, but was each time quickly repaired by the Vietnamese people.

Then we will ride through different banana plantations near the Red River.

We take a tour around the vegetable fields, growing a big variety of products including: bitter melon, corn, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, green peas, snake peas and corn, as well as fruit gardens with oranges, pommels, papaya and more (depending on the season to grow different crops).

Enjoy local lunch at a Pho Cuon Restaurant in Ngu Xa street then we continue to the West Lake, which is the biggest freshwater lake of the northwest center of Hanoi. Visit Tran Quoc pagoda and Quan Thanh temple and then drive to Red River Flower garden “Bai Da Song Hong” then ride back to your hotel.

Bike back to your hotel. Tour ends here.

Hanoi - Phu Lang village - Dai Bai village - Hanoi

Phu Lang is one of the three ancient pottery centers of the Northern Delta region, which was formed and developed about 900 years ago with traditional handicraft products and appliances.

These days, ceramics used in Phu Lang are believed to be present in a number of historical sites in the Red River delta, such as communal houses, temples, pagodas… Moreover, Phu Lang pottery village still keeps its pristine features and the lives of people here are as rustic as materials of ceramics.

The ceramic village of Phu Lang retains the simple beauty and peaceful atmosphere of many years ago, with its narrow zigzag lanes, red brick walls, and unchanging scenes of rural Vietnam. Phu Lang has become a tourist attraction to both local and foreign visitors.

08.00 AM: pick up at your hotel, then we transfer to Phu Lang village.

Upon arrival, we walk along the rural village lanes, learning and seeing the way how pottery is made, and we see clever techniques of local artisans. On the way, we call in a local family, have an interesting talk with locals over how the pottery plays an important roll in their daily life. We enjoy in the meantime a delicious cup of green tea. You may also experience making your own pottery products to give to your friends as a gift. It would be an incredible experience during your travel journey around Vietnam.

Have a real Vietnamese lunch at the local house.

In the afternoon, we take a local ferry through Cau River to Dai Bai Village, which nationwide has been well-known for its bronze casting tradition for over 1000 years.  Have a gentle cycling tour around the peaceful countryside. We go to a famous artisan house and see its several amazing works made from bronze.

Afterwards, we return the bike and transfer back to Hanoi.

16.30: Reaching Hanoi. Tour ends
