Itinerary
With your guide and driver, you leave Hanoi for a 7-hour drive to Ha Giang. As you leave the Red River Delta the scenery will start to change as you enter the mountains of Northern Vietnam. You will arrive in Tuyen Quang around noon and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (on your own account). After your meal, continue the drive to Ha Giang, which is the northernmost province in Vietnam, consisting of breathtaking scenery, a colorful array of hill tribes and vibrant local markets (these rotate daily). As this is a remote area, accommodation and facilities are of basic level, however we’ll make sure your journey is as comfortable as possible. On arriving at Ha Giang, we take a short rest and head to Quan Ba district.
Overnight in Quan Ba – Ha Giang
After breakfast, we stay good-bye to the host and depart for Dong Van. Drive on the undulating terrain, between 800m and 1 500m in height, through beautiful mountainous landscapes and terraced paddy fields. Have some stops for taking photo and visiting Heaven’s Gate, Bac Sum Pass, Fairy Mountain and especially a White H’mong village which specializes in flax weaving. Afternoon visit some villages on the way. Visit the Vuong Chi Sinh’s Palace, a King of H’mong hill tribe before. Continue, visit Old Lung Cu Column - the top place of the country, the highest latitude points on the map of Vietnam. Arrive Dong Van, check in the hotel then you have free time to discover the small ancient town.
After breakfast take a stroll round Dong Van Market in the morning. Then going to Nho Que river to take a boat trip on the river to see the spectacular landscape of Ma Pi Leng alley, Tu San Abyss Alley. Continue, drive to Ma Pi Leng Pass arguably the most beautiful landscapes in Ha Giang and in Viet Nam. Continue, drive to Hoang Su Phi.
Hoang Su Phi is a rural district of Ha Giang province in the northeastern region of Vietnam. While Dong Van Karst Geo- Park makes Ha Giang a bigger name for visitors from far and wide by the grey limestone mountains, Hoang Su Phi offers visitors a different taste with stunning rice terraces. The highlights and must-see places for the terraces are near and along the main road between Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man, where those terraces are classified as a National Heritage by the Vietnamese Government.
