Overview
This tour is a perfect combination of beautiful destinations in North Vietnam. You will spend your time walking in a peaceful valley of Mai Chau and enjoying breathtaking scenery, discovering exotic cultures of Vietnam's hill tribes. Pu Luong reserve is an authentic place unspoiled by tourism. You will meet up minorities in Pu Luong who live from agriculture. The nature in Pu Luong is intact and swimming by a waterfall in the middle of the jungle is an amazing experience. Then, in Ninh Binh, another part of the Vietnamese culture and history will be introduced to you by visiting the Ancient Capital Hoa Lu. You will board a boat to discover the “Halong Bay on land” Tam Coc.

Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong (L, D)
Day 2: Pu Luong (B, L, D)
Day 3: Pu Luong – Ninh Binh (B, L)
Day 4: Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B, L)
In the morning we depart to Mai Chau which is famed as the peaceful, green, and glamorous valley paradise found in the west of the capital city. Cycling to the nearby villages, marvelous rice fields, and in Mai Chau Town itself. Taking a walk promises lots of sweet moments that you both savor in the peaceful scenery.
Have a delicious lunch at the local homestay and then continue to Pu Luong.
You enter Pu Luong Nature Reserve by road via a breathtaking mountain pass giving you a panoramic view of the whole valley. You arrive at your accommodation, followed by free time to explore the beautiful retreat, with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting.
You have the chance to get close to village life and interact with locals living in the hills above the resort. Glimpse at daily life, walk around working farmland and rice fields, and learn about making woven colorful textiles, followed by dinner at the Lodge.
Overnight in Pu Luong
Start early to descend into the beautiful valley facing the lodge where you walk around tumbling rice terraces. Trek through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Your camera will not be able to sit still.
Continuing to the base of the valley, you weave between roads and farmland, villages and wild fields, ponds and rivers, mountains and open land. Savour the ever-changing scenery as you trek to a beautiful spot to enjoy a simple picnic lunch.
In the afternoon you have free time to explore the refreshing water to the nearby river, before moving to our pick up point to be transferred back to the lodge.
Overnight in Pu Luong
After breakfast, you will be transferred to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aquaducts via simple constructions of all sizes.
Arriving at a local fisherman’s house, you have a short rest to gear up for the bamboo river rafting with the team. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts.
Arriving at scenic Tan Lap bridge, you disembark to be transferred back to the retreat for lunch.
After lunch we will transfer to Ninh Binh. Check in and have free time.
Overnight in Ninh Binh
After breakfast we depart to visit the Dinh and Le temples of the Ancient Capital Hoa Lu which are dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the founders of the ancient capital during the 10th century.
In the afternoon, we continue drive to Tam Coc wharf, get on the rowing boat while this area is still not busy, we will enjoy nice and quiet riding along the river through 3 tunnel cave, consisting of the Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba grottoes. These caves are adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and colors that sparkle like gemstones.
After tour we will transfer back to Hanoi with drop off at your hotel.
