Itinerary

BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 01: Hanoi arrival - Half day city – night train to Lao Cai (L, D)

Day 02: Lao Cai - Sapa – Heaven Gate – Silver waterfall – Fansipan by cable car B, L)

Day 03: Lao Chai – Ta Van village – bus to Hanoi (B, L)

Day 04: Hanoi – Ha Long bay. Overnight on the cruise (B, L, D)

Day 05: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B, Brunch)

Day 06: Hanoi – Departure (B) (Private car, no guide).

Day 01: Hanoi arrival - Half day city – night train to Lao Cai (L, D)

Upon arrival, welcome by our tour guide and transfer to your hotel.

We visit Ho Chi Minh complex, including the One Pillar Pagoda, the former leader’s house on stilts and his Mausoleum (outside)

Keep forward to the peaceful Temple of Literature - the first university of Vietnam.

Back to the city central, visit Ngoc Son temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, then take an hour cycle tour around the old quarter.

Enjoy dinner before transfer to the train station to take a night train to Lao Cai.

Day 02: Lao Cai - Sapa – Heaven Gate – Silver waterfall – Fansipan by cable car (B, L)

The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 06:30. There will be a vehicle waiting to transfer us to Sapa. Driving to Sapa is only 38 km but it takes around one hour to make our way up the mountains. Once at Sapa, we will check into the hotel (if the room is available - check in time after 12:00). After freshening up and having breakfast we are ready to explore Sapa. The drive uphill offers most spectacular scenery of Fansipan Mount. Just a kilometer out of the town, rose flower farms and later chayote grows on bamboo frames covered a vast area. We’ll stop at the magnificent Silver Waterfall before continue the road trip for some kilometers further to Heaven Gate and Tram Ton Pass. At 2047m above sea level, the Heaven Gate & Tram Ton Pass is the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. From here enjoy walking around for half an hour for beautiful scenery of both two side of Hoang Lien Son mountain range. The wind blows stronger to force the clouds moving constantly. It is the best point here to enjoy breathtaking scenery of the two side of Fansipan Mountain Range. Amazingly that the weather is very different by the side: In many days It is foggy and cloudy on Sa Pa side and sunny brightly the other side.

Leaving the Heaven Gate for the way back downhill 7 km, then stop to pay visiting to some lush farm in O Quy Ho where different kind of vegetable, flower, fruit trees and even medicinal plants are grown for years which makes this part of Sapa ever green.

After that we will begin the journey conquering Fansipan by modern cable car system. The cable car system in Sapa is the world’s longest and highest cable car, running up from sleepy Sapa Town in Lao Cai Province to the peak of 3,143-meter. Fansipan Mountain, known as Indochina’s rooftop.

Day 03: Lao Chai – Ta Van villages – bus to Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast we will start our trekking tour. The car will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hills tribe villages Lao Chai & Ta Van, home to Black H'mong, and Dzay people. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. Once on the valley floor you can really appreciate the wonderful scenery that surrounds you. The walls of the valley are covered with multi-layered rice terraced fields and scattered villages. After visiting Ta Van the car will return you to Sapa.

In the afternoon we will transfer back to Hanoi by bus.

Day 04: Hanoi – Ha Long bay. Overnight on the cruise (B, L, D)

At about 8:00Am, we depart Hanoi for Ha Long Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. “Dragon descending to the sea “as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Ha Long bay has more than 1.000 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes

Upon arrival at Ha Long Bay we embark on a boat trip to cruise discovering this magnificent UNESCO World Wonder. This is a great journey among surreal islands rising from a tranquil emerald sea. You will visit several key locations.

Visits:

– One of the most stunning caves of Ha Long Bay

– Stop at a beautiful beach and take a refreshing swim or sunbathe on the sundeck; take a short trek to the nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay.

Back onboard the junk, you will watch the sunset and be served a sumptuous dinner, with cocktails available for purchase from the bar. You will spend the night onboard the junk, in a cabin with an ensuite bathroom.

Day 05: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B, Brunch)

Early morning coffee and tea will be served on the sundeck followed by a Tai Chi class. After breakfast we take a Sampan boat or Kayak to explore the bay. We may have a chance to see the wild monkeys that gather around waiting for food from the tourists. After that we continue to cruise around the bay. Lunch is served on the boat on our way back to the docks then we transfer back to Hanoi.

The rest of time is free for shopping.

Day 06: Hanoi – Departure (B) (Private car, no guide)

Breakfast at the hotel then transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
