Hoa Lu – Tam Coc one day
Overview
This trip is a great opportunity to discover Vietnam’s history and enjoy the beauty of nearby landscapes. Hoa Lu, situated about 100 km south of Hanoi, was the first capital city of Vietnam under the Dinh and Le Dynasties, between 968 and 1009 AD. Tam Coc is considered and known as “Ha Long bay on land”, the area is also one of outstanding natural beauty with awesome limestone peaks.
Our one-day tour starts at your hotel in Hanoi at 8am. After 2, 5 hours driving southwards, we arrive at Tam Coc wharf, we get on the rowing boat while this area is still not busy, we will enjoy nice and quiet riding along the river through 3 tunnel caves, consisting of the Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba grottoes. These caves are adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and colors that sparkle like gemstones. After 2 hours’ boat ride, we get back on the shore, have lunch in a local restaurant nearby, afterwards we will go to visit Hoa Lu Ancient Capital with 2 temples of the Kings Dinh and Le before heading back to Hanoi.
